The Auction Sale Starts at 11am unless otherwise stated (check your catalogue) . We do stop at 12 noon and auction the vehicles which are lotted alphabetically. The sale may last anything from 2 to 5 hours, this is dependant on a number of things, number of lots to be sold, amount of repeat lots to be offered and general speed of bidding by our customers. In general a normal sale will take 2 - 2½ hours. There are refreshments available. The whole site has wheelchair access. . Each Auctioneers has their own Conditions of Sale, we ask all our customers to read this before bidding and in conjunction with their catalogue. We do not use a bidding number system, customers are requested to give there names if successful. We do not accept telephone bids during the sale, nor do we do online bidding. . All buyers are required to fill out a registration card before bidding on your first visit and at any time your circumstances change. The auctioneer will ask for deposits during the sale. . The bid price is not the amount you will pay, a buyers premium of 10% (5% on vehicles) plus VAT at the appropriate is due on the bid price. This adds approximately 30% to your bid price. If you are not sure please ask a member of staff. A break down of a typical bid can be found on our Payments page. While viewing we suggest making a note in your catalogue before bidding of your maximum bid. . Remember all lots are 'bought as seen' and once you have bid you cannot change your mind. . Auctioneers treat repeat lots in different ways, our catalogue will show so many ditto or similar lots throughout the catalogue. This often causes a great deal confusion to the bidder. . A ditto lot is a repeat of the previous lot, the item is the same, similar lots are repeats but their are variations for example we may be selling a size 10 dress, the similar lots may vary in size but be the same style and colour. . When the auctioneer reaches a lot with repeats he may offer the OPTION, this indicates to the sale room that who ever is successful in buying the first lot may have as many of the others, each at the same price as the first. Any remaining lots in the series will be offered, the option many be given again. . The circumstance may arise in which you wish to bid on a lot in the middle of a series, in which case you should alert the auctioneer when he gives the OPTION that you OBJECT, each lot will then be offered separately. It is bad manners then not to bid when your lot is offered. . If you are unable to attend the sale in person, we are happy to bid for you, just complete a bidding form, and leave your bids with a member of staff, who will endeavour to obtain the lots to your best advantage We do not take telephone or internet bids. Faxed or email bids must reach us before the sale starts . On completion of the sale clearing can take place. . Parking is permitted in our yard, please do not park in the entrance way. Tea and coffee are available during the sale.
